Alginate dressings with silver are indicated for highly exuding ulcers with infection at the point of debridement.

Antibacterial efficacy in exuding wounds

Urgosorb Silver is a pad made of calcium alginate (which gives it hemostatic properties), with hydrocolloid molecules, specifically sodium carboxymethylcellulose, which provides 50% higher absorbency than plain alginate pads – absorbing 30 times its weight.The high content of guluronic acid (high G) gives the pad a high consistency which means it is removed without residue.It contains silver in the form of a complex, which breaks down into silver ions that impart an antibacterial effect to the wound, as soon as the pad comes into contact with the wound secretions.

It is indicated for the cleaning of semi-fluid necrosis and the management of secretions in ulcers with an increased risk of developing infection or with a clinical picture of infection.

It is offered in various sizes while the cord shape is specially designed for the treatment of hollow wounds with great depth (cavities, fistulas).
